Nine things we are called out for most, all carried out where your car is parked. Emergency callouts and non-starts are the bulk of our work — but we also service, brake, belt and diagnose, on driveways across Paisley and Renfrewshire.
Open 24 hours — evenings and weekends included.

You break down, you ring, we come out. Day, night, weekend — the phone is answered around the clock. We work at the roadside, in a car park or on your driveway, and in most cases we diagnose and repair on the spot rather than dragging the car to a garage and waiting days for a slot.
Non-starts, flat batteries, dead starters and charging faults.
The most common call we get. A car that won't start is nearly always one of a handful of things: a flat or failed battery, a dying alternator that never charged it, a worn starter motor, a fuel delivery fault or an immobiliser that isn't seeing the key. We test the charging and starting circuit properly before replacing anything, so you don't pay for a battery when the alternator was the problem.
Repairs at the side of the road rather than a tow and a long wait.
Recovery gets your car moved. A mechanic gets it fixed. We carry diagnostics, common parts and the tools to do real repairs where the car sits — belts, hoses, sensors, coils, batteries, brakes and more. If it turns out the job truly needs a ramp or specialist equipment, we'll tell you that straight away instead of running the clock.
Fault codes read and interpreted — then actually tested.
A code reader tells you which circuit is unhappy, not which part is broken. We plug in, read live data and then test the components on that circuit before condemning anything. Warning lights, misfires, limp mode, intermittent electrical gremlins and MOT emissions failures all start here.
Interim and full servicing on your driveway while you get on with your day.
There is no reason to lose half a day to a garage waiting room for an oil and filter change. We come to your home or your workplace, service the car where it is parked, stamp the book and take the old oil away with us.
Grinding, squealing, spongy pedal or a car that pulls under braking.
Brakes are the one job never worth putting off. We replace pads and discs, free off seized calipers and sliders, change brake fluid and sort handbrakes that won't hold on a hill — which matters a lot on the Braes side of Paisley.
Slipping clutches, heavy pedals and gears that won't select.
A clutch that slips on the climb out of Foxbar or a pedal that suddenly drops to the floor usually means the friction plate, the release bearing or the hydraulics. We diagnose which, replace clutch hydraulics and bleed the system, and advise honestly when a full clutch change is a workshop job.
Cambelt changes and the engine jobs that keep a car alive.
A snapped timing belt writes off an engine, so it is one repair worth doing on schedule rather than on symptom. We change belts, water pumps, tensioners and auxiliary belts, and handle cooling faults — thermostats, hoses and pumps — before a warm gauge turns into a warped head.
Knocks, clonks, uneven tyre wear and steering that doesn't feel right.
Renfrewshire's back roads and speed cushions are hard on suspension. We replace shock absorbers, springs, drop links, wishbones, bushes and track rod ends, and diagnose the knock you can hear but nobody else seems to.
Straight answers
Being honest about the limits is part of the job. These need a workshop, and we will tell you so at the point of diagnosis rather than after you have paid a callout.
Everything else — the great majority of what stops a car working — we can do on your driveway or at the kerbside.
Describe what the car is doing and we will tell you what it is likely to be, what it usually costs, and whether it is a job we can do where you are.
